Draw the line never a square - fully uncovered!

Like we promised, it's time to unveil the last details of the EP.
Draw the line never a square is not only a record without pretensions. It has its own message and goal. We already wrote about music and lyrics, and now it's time to say something about the ideas behind it, because the whole new material - the EP and the forthcoming album, has this notion. The EP Draw the line never a square is an invitation to draw the line, to set the criteria, to say no to personality and dignity-degrading relavitism, while being careful not to frame oneself in a square, or fanaticism, trying to do so. The album which will follow is infact a call to action, and that's why we named it RuizRadioRevolution. So, this is what the EP is about; rock'n'roll is our business and that's the point of view we'll be talking from.
Some time ago, before rock'n'roll, people were walking around zipped up to their throats. They even thought they knew what a "good life" is, and pointed fingers at those who were different.
And that's when rock'n'roll, in its liberation campaign, brought everything into question and started the unbuttoning, one by one. It became an enormous, leading part of pop culture, it made men completely naked and showed not only their bare skin, but their blood and guts as well. And, instead of building a new world, it dissipated into relativism and pointless hedonism. It woke up the ugliest demons in people, and offered nothing to lead on the eros of life. This may sound harsh, but that's how I feel, and feelings shouldn't be restrained.
From what I see, rock'n'roll here, and abroad as well, looks and sounds no more than pure populism, a vague spectacle rolling in a puddle of obscenity, it's foreseeable and in fact talks about nothing. Today, they say that everything is equally worth, but fail to understand that at the same time they make everything worthless. That's why majority became apathetic at first, than selfish, insensitive and finally - agressive. The world is led by people who, for some reason, think that money is the ultimate value in life. To feed this irrational idea further, they use pop culture to turn us into ordinary, mediocre people with prefabricated, equal wishes and needs. They take our ideals away. They whisper "everybody has it's own truth, it's own love, freedom, beauty, it's all yours and yours only and you're all right. You own everything. Whatever you wish for, you deserve and get, and it's all equally worth." They want to erase the complete history of thinking within a moment, to undo everything that brought us where we are, step by step. This way, everything became worthless and made people look only after themselves, deeply unmotivated to make a step forward. It's uneasy to be confined within your own walls. We need others to break those walls and show us new horizons. What's a man without a perspective? If anyone should be sensitive to narrowing the horizons, it's rock'n'roll. Because, there was a time once when that was possible...

So, maybe the time has come to wash away the blood and other fluids from the man, to button him up, hug him and turn his head towards the horizon. Maybe it's time to draw a line, for starters ;)

"Ruiz, probably the most prominent name on Croatian alternative scene, is the band everybody talks about these days. Recently they signed for an indie label named Geenger Records, and starting today, you'll be able to stream You Decide, the first single from their new EP "Draw The Line Never A Square" on Croatia's most popular music portal Muzika.hr.

The song is awesome, its danceable melody hits you right in the guts and, basically, you won't be able to get it out of your head so easily. Anyway, listen to it and judge for yourself. Again and again and again. You Decide, right – but we already know what you opted for!

"Starting as a powerful duo and expanding their line-up with a bass player in 2007, Ruiz continuosly worked on their signature sound which is a bit difficult to describe, so think of it like this: Kyuss and Nirvana aesthetics, Gang of Four and Rapture dance elements, and the unrestrained playing of At the Drive-In. So far they have two releases under their belts – a self-released EP named “Taste!” and a critically acclaimed debut album called “Erupt!” which came out in 2009 on Sonic Doom Records, a small indie label from Zagreb, Croatia. Just around these days the band's new material will get released on Geenger Records, not once - but twice! An EP named Draw the line never a square and a bit later an LP entitled RuizRadioRevolution, both with the same message: Fight the bigotry of vanity!!
